University College Job Summary The Summer Success Coach in University College will contribute to student success and retention through one-on-one personal coaching and provide outreach efforts to navigate the registration and enrollment process. Success Coaches are trained by University College to address academic barriers, understand the enrollment process and connect students to appropriate campus resources and services. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a positive attitude, strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and professional demeanor. The skills or experiences that are desired for the student in this role include: strong interpersonal skills; compassion for students who struggle and comfort working with individuals with different backgrounds and identities.Duties will include:
1. Help students navigate their summer coursework and fall enrollment. 2. Proactive outreach via phone and email to Illinois State students. 3. Meet 1:1 with students to discuss Summer course progress and assist with time management. 4. Connect students to Illinois State support services. 5. Maintain accurate appointment notes and privacy of student information. Additional Information Student employees are eligible to participate in the University's 403(b) Plan. More information can be found here . Pay Rate $15.00/hour Preferred Qualifications- Applicants must have an overall GPA of at least 2.5 and at least 24 hours earned at Illinois State University
- Must be available to work approximately 10-15 hours per week
- Must have a strong understanding of campus resources and services
- Applicants must be in good standing with Illinois State University as it relates to student conduct Work Hours 10-15 hours per week.
- Effectively communicate on a daily basis.

Illinois State University, as your employer, is required by federal law to ensure proper tax withholding from wages and to ensure that the required reporting of employee wages, withholding, and employment taxes is accurate. For this reason, every employee must have a valid Social Security Number registered with the University at the time of employment and/or as soon after as possible, but no later than 45 days from the start date. Failure to comply with this law may result in cancellation of your appointment. Illinois State University student employees are restricted to no more than 28 hours per week of on-campus employment for all positions held. International students are restricted by their visa status to no more than 20 hours per week of on-campus employment when the university is in session but may work more when the university is not in session. International students should contact the Office of International Studies and Programs for guidance if they have questions concerning employment restrictions.
