Plano Community Unit School District 88 Assistant Cheer Coach at Plano High School for the 2026-27School Year General Description of Position:
- Assist/Support the Head Coach in developing a well-organized practice schedule that utilizes their staff at all levels
- Assist/Support the Head Coach in developing a well-defined academic plan for all students to increase academic performance
- Cooperate with the athletic and school administration to provide a quality Athletic experience for all athletes
- Maximize practice time for both individual and team development
- Provide proper supervision and administration of locker room, training room, and bus trips
- Assist the Head Coach in summer/offseason program to develop skills and strength
- Assist the Head Coach in maintaining the program and is timely with appropriate management and paperwork requirements for eligibility, registration, match scores, records, etc.
- Participate in planning and preparations for banquets and other team events to recognize athletes for their accomplishments
- Be concerned about the care of equipment, including issuance, collection, inventory, and storage
- Communicate with administration about athletic equipment requests, budget needs, unusual events, etc.
- Follow proper district procedure for the purchase of equipment and operate within the budget
- Attend all-conference meetings as needed and stay in compliance with IHSA requests
- Assist/Support the Head Coach in maintaining communication with feeder coaches, programs, parents, athletes, and the bus barn both within and outside the season.
Qualifications:
