ECA Position Summary:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Middle School Volleyball Coach to lead and develop our middle school volleyball program. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the sport, excellent coaching skills, and the ability to inspire and motivate young athletes. The coach will be responsible for fostering teamwork, sportsmanship, and skill development in a positive and supportive environment.Key Responsibilities:
Team Development:
Coach and mentor middle school students in volleyball, teaching both fundamental and advanced techniques in a way that promotes personal growth, teamwork, and a love for the sport.Practice Planning:
Plan and conduct engaging, skill-building practices that focus on individual development as well as team strategy.Game Preparation:
Prepare the team for competitive matches, including setting up game strategies, assigning player roles, and ensuring athletes are physically and mentally prepared.Student-Athlete Support:
Monitor the academic progress and overall well-being of student-athletes, ensuring they balance sports and schoolwork.Team Management:
Maintain effective communication with student-athletes, assistant coaches, and parents. Ensure that all players are treated with respect and encouraged to grow.Behavioral Expectations:
Promote sportsmanship, positive character, and respect both on and off the court. Hold athletes accountable for maintaining appropriate conduct.Safety & Compliance:
Ensure all practices and games are conducted safely, adhering to league regulations, school policies, and safety guidelines.Game Day Responsibilities:
Attend and coach at scheduled games, managing player rotations, providing in-game guidance, and leading by example. Communication withParents:
Provide regular updates to parents about team progress, upcoming games, and any important changes or issues.Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate records of player attendance, participation, and performance throughout the season.Professional Development:
Participate in coaching clinics and professional development opportunities to stay updated on coaching techniques and sports trends.Qualifications:
Previous coaching experience, preferably in volleyball, or a strong background in playing competitive volleyball (required). A passion for teaching and mentoring young athletes. Strong knowledge of volleyball rules, strategies, and techniques.Similar jobs in Bedford, IN
