GIRLS' TENNIS VARSITY HEAD COACH JOB SUMMARY
Position is responsible for organizing the Girls' Tennis program at
Bishop Luers High School:
conducting practices, motivating students-athletes, and instructing student-athletes in strategies and techniques.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Instructing the athletes in the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the sport of Girls' Tennis Reports to the Athletic Director, and Principal. Organizes and directs individual and small group practices/activities/exercises. Assesses player's skills, monitors players during competition and practice, and keeps track of the athletic performance of the athletes. Supervising athletes during practices and competitions. Follows established procedures in the event of an athlete's injury. Model sports-like behavior and maintains appropriate conduct towards players, officials, and spectators. Maintains the equipment room in an orderly condition and assumes responsibility for its security. Distributes equipment, supplies, and uniforms to athletes. Submits a list of award winners at the end of the season to the athletic department. Participate in special activities to include parent's night, banquets, award nights, and pep assemblies as much as possible. Performs support tasks such as distributing and maintaining eligibility forms, emergency data cards, and other related records via Final Forms. Model nondiscriminatory practices in all activities.
OTHER DUTIES
Attend staff development meetings, clinics, and other professional activities to improve coaching performance if available. Perform any other related duties as assigned by the Athletic Director and Principal or other appropriate administrator. BLHS certification to drive a minibus.
APPLICANT MUST
Previous High School Tennis coaching experience preferred but not required. Be willing to fulfill the mission statement of
