Job Description

Tennis Instructor Schedule/Hours:
Varies Do you love tennis and enjoy motivating kids while building skills, confidence, and sportsmanship on the court? What You'll Do Deliver engaging tennis instruction while supporting leagues, tournaments, and special events. You'll help create a fun, safe, and encouraging environment that keeps kids excited to learn and play. Key Responsibilities Instruct tennis lessons for children and youth Supervise leagues, tournaments, and special events Maintain courts and ensure safe playing conditions Motivate participants and encourage consistent attendance Track attendance and collect end-of-session program feedback What You Bring - Education & Experience One or more years of experience in education, recreation, sports, or working with children Experience or strong interest in tennis instruction Reliable transportation Skills & Traits That Fit This Role Positive, energetic leadership style Strong communication and organization skills Ability to connect with children ages 18 months-12 years Dependable and committed through program completion Why Work for the City of Fort Wayne Share your passion for tennis while making a meaningful community impact Flexible, part-time opportunities that work well for students, educators, and recreation professionals Supportive Parks & Recreation team focused on youth development and active lifestyles Equal Opportunity Employer Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of applicable drug screening, physical examination, and background checks.
