Coaches are responsible for supporting the academic, athletic, and personal development of student-athletes while promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline, and school pride. Essential Responsibilities Organize and supervise practices, competitions, and team activities. Teach fundamental skills, rules, and strategies appropriate for middle school student-athletes. Foster a positive, inclusive, and educational athletic environment. Promote good sportsmanship, character, teamwork, and respect among athletes. Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants at practices and events. Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, school staff, officials, and administration. Maintain appropriate supervision of students during practices, games, travel, and other team activities. Support and enforce school, district, conference, and state athletic policies and expectations. Monitor student-athlete academic progress and encourage academic success. Assist with equipment management, inventory, and care of school facilities. Attend required meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities.
