Job Description

Amazing Athletes is seeking a Part-Time Youth Sports Coach for our multi-sport enrichment program this summer. As the largest program of its kind in the country, Amazing Athletes is dedicated to providing children ages 1-12 with positive movement experiences to enhance their physical literacy and meet important milestones. As a Youth Sports Coach, you will play a key role in leading and organizing a multi-sport program that provides a fun and safe learning environment for children. Lessons include obstacle courses, specific ball and stick sports skills, themed stations, and energetic group games. Program locations vary on a daily basis around the greater Indianapolis area, including Hamilton, Marion, Hendricks, and Johnson Counties. These programs generally run between 9AM to noon or 12:30PM-3:30PM. Morning or afternoon only options are available, as well as specific days of the week. This role is part-time and flexible, with the potential for coaching up to three sites a day. Responsibilities Teach children fundamental sports skills. Plan activities that positively influence physical development and coordination of children. Create a fun, inclusive, and positive learning environment Manage groups of children, providing guidance and support to ensure their safety and well-being (Group sizes can range from 8-30, but generally are 12-24). Develop and lead age-appropriate drills and exercises. Ages range from eighteen months to twelve years. Interact and engage with children while providing instruction. Set and enforce behavioral standards and rules. Requirements "Make it work" attitude, always willing to adapt to different environments. Prior experience in coaching, teaching or working with children. Knowledge and passion for sports. Experience managing groups of children. Many if not all of these classes are solo taught. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Must be able to stand, walk, stoop, and kneel for extended periods. Must have a valid driver's license. Availability starting May 25th through August 7th. Benefits Compensation for daily classes ranges from $18-22 per 30-minute class (depending on experience). We offer paid training, coaching shirts, and all necessary lesson plans, equipment and training to run your class.
