Job Title:
Assistant Cheer Coach MSD of Martinsville Mission:
We work together, we challenge and inspire our children through rich experiences, empowering them to achieve success while making positive contributions to our world.
Job Summary and Requirements:
Adhere to all IHSAA regulations, including player eligibility, transfer policies, and required training standards. Ensure the safety, welfare, and appropriate conduct of student-athletes during all practices, competitions, and team activities. Develop and implement comprehensive in-season and off-season training programs. Monitor and support student-athletes' academic progress. Organize team schedules, coordinate transportation requests, develop game strategies, and oversee equipment inventory and maintenance. Supervise and mentor assistant coaches. Conduct parent meetings and maintain positive communication with families. Collaborate effectively with school administration and foster player development by building and maintaining a strong feeder program with the middle school. The position requires the ability to remain emotionally stable, exercise sound judgment, and maintain professional composure in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple responsibilities and responding appropriately to student needs and unexpected situations.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent, basic computer or communication skills (if relevant), ability to work with students, experience in schools or similar settings. Demonstrate knowledge of the sport and, often, experience as a head or assistant coach, and obtain coaching certifications.

Stipend based on the Master Teacher Contract.
