Aug 17, 2026 Job Description Abilene Middle School is seeking an Assistant 8th Grade Volleyball Coach for the upcoming 2026-27 school year. The ideal candidate will support the head coach in building a competitive and positive volleyball program that reflects our athletic and activity core values of commitment, effort, and teamwork. This role is ideal for someone passionate about developing middle school student-athletes, teaching fundamentals, and creating a strong team culture. Job Responsibilities (but not limited to): Support the head coach in planning and leading practices, matches, and offseason skill development. Help develop players' volleyball fundamentals, teamwork, communication, and game understanding. Model and reinforce our core values of commitment, effort, and teamwork. Build positive relationships with student-athletes while encouraging academic success and personal growth. Assist with communication to players, families, and school staff. Help manage equipment, uniforms, and match-day responsibilities. Collaborate with coaching staff to support player development within the middle school and high school volleyball program. Uphold all school, district, and KSHSAA policies and expectations.
