Job Description

SUMMARY This position will be coaching linebackers and assisting in the coordination of the HCC Football team by performing all duties assigned by the Head Coach and Athletic Director to the best of their ability and in a professional manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 1. Attend and take part in the in-service training provided by the Athletic Director and Head Coach. 2. Be familiar with and follow the policies of Highland Community College, the NJCAA, and the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference. 3. Attend all practices and home and away contests in the Football program. 4. Teach fundamentals, techniques, etc., as directed by the Head Coach. 5. Teach sportsmanship and set an example of good moral and physical behavior. 6. Assume responsibility of assisting the head coach, under his/her supervision, in performing assigned responsibilities. 7. Assist the Head Coach with driving responsibilities to away contests as directed. 8. Assist the Head Coach with recruiting activities as directed. 9. Be loyal to the Head Coach and his/her program. 10. Participate in and be supportive of the Rules, Mission, and initiatives of the HCC Athletic Department and Athletic Director.
QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience Bachelor's degree required; Related experience and/or training required. Certificates/Licenses/Registrations Must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record with no major infractions in the past five years. Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of students, community members, and employees of organization. Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
