JOB TITLE
Head Coach
SUPERVISOR
Principal
BASIC FUNCTION
To organize and coordinate the assigned athletic team and to help participants appreciate the values of discipline and sportsmanship
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES
Organizes and supervises practices
Teaches individual fundamental skills, team play, team strategy and rules and regulations
Teaches good sportsmanship and self-control
Maintains charge of storage and maintenance of all equipment and facilities as needed
Checks eligibility of participants, including insurance coverage and parent consent
Provides students a proper role model, emotional support, patience, a friendly attitude and general guidance
Recommends the purchase of equipment, supplies and uniforms as appropriate for the health, safety and welfare of the students
Demonstrates loyalty, dedication, and a positive attitude toward the mission and goals of the Breckinridge County Schools
Is punctual and prepared for immediate assumption of duties upon arrival at athletic events
Attends meetings and other school related programs as necessary and appropriate
Assumes responsibilities of other duties relating to special athletic events
Performs other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Must possess a valid Kentucky driver's license
Has met the requirements for criminal records check and child abuse and neglect check as specified by Kentucky State Law
A minimum of 64 semester hours from an accredited college or university or passed the paraeducator exam and/or one year of experience coaching in a school athletic program
Ability to work effectively with students and parents
