October 2025 Scope of work: Roxbury Community College Athletics Department invites applications for part-time Assistant Baseball Coach. Apply today for this tremendous opportunity to lead and help build our Baseball Program. Help to Take leadership of our steadily rising baseball program, great opportunity to elevate a strong resourceful program to the next level. RCC is a member of NJCAA Region 21 Athletic Conference. Knowledge of Baseball, strong connection with BPS high schools and the ability to develop players is required for this position. The goal is to build/develop strong players for the next level.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Support the Head Coach in Fulfilling all tasks attendant to the overall management of the Baseball team and do so in a manner that is consistent with the educational mission of Roxbury Community College and embodies the educational philosophies of the Department of Athletics and the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). Promote the positive development and growth of student-athletes: academically, athletically and personally; and monitor academic progress of student-athletes to insure eligibility and progress towards a degree. Recruit and retain student athletes for the softball team in accordance with Roxbury Community College and National Junior Collegiate Athletic Association (NJCAA) Guidelines. Understand and adhere to all Roxbury Community College, NJCAA and Region 21 Athletic Conference bylaws, rules, policies and protocols. Support the Head Coach in Coordinating all practice and training sessions for the Baseball team and prepare the team for competition. Work with Strength and Conditioning Coach to Develop Strength and Conditioning program for student athletes.
Requirements:
Experience in coaching, playing at a higher education institution or high school level required. Experience playing and or Coaching Baseball at the High School or College level required. Bachelor's Degree, master's degree Preferred. Knowledge and understanding of Institutional, NJCAA and/ or NCAA policies and procedures, Roxbury Community College rules and conference rules are required. Knowledge of recruiting in Massachusetts and ability to evaluate high school players for talent to play on the Baseball team of the College are required. Ability to instruct Baseball related skills. Ability to exhibit good judgement. Support the Division's Collaborative Mission. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required. Ability to work flexible hours (nights & weekends) required. Must have a valid Massachusetts driver's license. Must have a valid Massachusetts driver's license.

Compensation:
$6,000.00 for the season This is a seasonal contracted position. Coach will be compensated for the timeline of the contract/season.
