Summer Center Director Position Overview:
CATS Academy Boston is seeking a dynamic and student-centered Basketball Coach to teach, refine, and elevate the fundamental basketball skills of campers (typically ages 13-18, ranging from beginners to advanced players) in a fun, safe, and motivating summer camp environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and lead drills focusing on ball-handling, shooting mechanics, passing accuracy, footwork, defense, and rebounding. Adapt drills for different age groups and skill levels. Provide constructive, real-time feedback to players to fix bad habits. Bring high enthusiasm daily. Summer camp is about development, but it's also about fun. You need to keep campers engaged even during repetitive drills. Ensure courts are clear of hazards, campers stay hydrated, and injuries are prevented or immediately reported to the camp medic. Emphasize sportsmanship, teamwork, resilience, and discipline. Application Process Interested candidates should submit a resume and cover letter outlining their coaching philosophy and experience.
Requirements:
Previous coaching experience in basketball Strong understanding of player development Knowledge of sports science and nutrition preferred Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills Commitment to student development, well-being, and academic success
Compensation & Benefits:
$1,200.00 per/week, paid on a bi-weekly basis Housing and meals may be included as part of the role
