Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic team as a Summer Diving Coach and ignite a passion for aquatic sports among enthusiastic learners! This energetic role offers the opportunity to inspire, teach, and develop young athletes of all ages and skill levels in a fun, safety-focused environment. As a key member of our community program, you'll foster confidence, promote healthy activity, and create memorable summer experiences through expert coaching and engaging instruction. This paid position is perfect for individuals who thrive on motivating others and have a love for diving and physical education. Responsibilities Lead and supervise diving training sessions for participants of diverse ages and skill levels, ensuring proper technique and safety protocols are followed at all times Develop tailored lesson plans that promote skill progression, confidence-building, and enjoyment of diving activities Monitor participants' performance, provide constructive feedback, and motivate them to achieve their personal best Maintain a safe environment by enforcing pool rules, conducting regular safety checks, and responding promptly to emergencies or incidents Collaborate with other staff to organize summer programs, competitions, and special events that enhance participant engagement Assist with equipment setup, maintenance, and inventory management to ensure all gear is safe and ready for use Foster positive behavior management strategies to encourage teamwork, respect, and sportsmanship among all participants Skills Proven experience as a lifeguard with current certification in water safety and rescue techniques is preferred A background in coaching diving is preferred Expertise as a diver is required Experience working with children or students in educational or childcare settings, with excellent behavior management skills Ability to teach diverse groups effectively while maintaining an energetic and motivating presence This role offers an exciting chance to make a lasting impact on young athletes' lives while honing your coaching skills in a lively summer setting.
