POSITION SUMMARY:
Program Instructors will provide a safe, fun experience for an assigned group of participants while they learn individual and team game skills, sportsmanship, and fair play.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of participants in a sports program by providing close supervision of all activities. Introduce the fundamental concepts of different sports including basketball, soccer, or martial arts. Preside over team activities including training camps, clinics, practices, and games. Adjust coaching techniques based on strengths and weaknesses of players. Provide instruction through drills and demonstrations. Evaluate, set up and break down equipment. Evaluate programs and implement new opportunities. Adhere to YMCA policies, objectives, and rules. Actively participate in all designated trainings and meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 18 years of age. High School Diploma preferred. One year experience working with youth in sports. Coaching experience in basketball or soccer. Strong communication skills. CPR/AED certification to be obtained with employment.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud at times. Soccer coach position for Sunday afternoons 1pm-4pm.
