POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

Graduate Assistant for Women's Basketball Mount Vernon Nazarene University exists to shape lives through educating the whole person and cultivating Christ-likeness for lifelong learning and service. The University seeks a Graduate Assistant to serve in the role of a Women's Basketball Graduate Assistant on the main campus. Graduate Assistant appointments are made in collaboration with the Vice President and Head Women's Basketball Coach. This position is 20 hours per week and is a full tuition benefit extending through the duration of the student's Master's program. Stipends, textbooks, and computers are not provided as part of the assistantship.

Responsibilities for this position include:

This position will assist with the following activities:

• Practice Sessions; OHelp with planning of practice OPresent at all practices
• Game Days; OPresent for home and away games OPlanning meals, transportation & hotel arrangements OHelping with game day strategies OTraveling with JV team if necessary
• Assist with Player Skill & Development; OInidividual & Group Workouts OLifting, Conditioning & Recovery Sessions
• Recruiting future players for the program; ORecruiting Calls & Visits OGoing to recruiting events & games
• Organizing Fundraising / Recruiting Events; OPlanning / Scheduling different events throughout the year OPresent & Working events
• Scout & Film OHelp with forming a scout for upcoming opponents OClip film for film sessions Expectations for the successful candidate:
• Bachelor degree or equivalent;
• Acceptance into a MVNU Graduate program;
• College Basketball Playing experience preferred;
• Experience with Synergy & Hudl preferred;
• Evangelical Christian statement of faith, experience and mission fit;
• Excellent technology, face-to-face, and phone;
• Ability to compose clear, professional letters, emails, and announcements;
• Must be capable of sitting, walking or standing for long periods of time, frequent use of stairs, ability to lift 25 pounds.
