Job Description:
Goucher College seeks a graduate assistant for men's and women's swimming and aquatics. Goucher College fields 21 intercollegiate teams competing in the NCAA Division III as a part of the Landmark Conference. The graduate assistant will be responsible for coaching the Goucher College swim teams, instructing and promoting lessons and other aquatic related programs, assisting with the development and implementation of fundraising activities, and effectively recruiting and retaining qualified student-athletes.
Requirements:
Qualified candidates will have a bachelor's degree and a minimum of two years of driving experience on a state-issued license. Demonstrated knowledge and success in coaching swimming and organizational skills in the administration of aquatics is required. The successful candidate must also possess excellent written and oral communication skills in order to interact with a diverse constituency including student-athletes, coaches, athletic trainers, and athletic administration. The graduate assistant must successfully enroll as a full-time student in the Graduate Programs in Education (GPE) with the area of specialization in Athletic Program Leadership and Administration. Qualified candidates must have at least an overall 3.0 undergraduate GPA to be considered for admission to the GPE.
Additional Information:
This two year position is available beginning August 2026. The graduate assistant can work up to 20 hours per week and will require weekend and evening work, as well as some team travel. Compensation for this position will be offered as tuition remission and a stipend of $5,400.00 per semester. The successful candidate will be subject to a background check and driving record check as a condition of employment.
