Schedule:
Program Dates June 30th - August 8th with about 2 weeks of training prior to the start of programming . Exact dates to be determined.
Program:
Elev8 Freedom School is a 6-week immersive K-12 summer literacy program that prepares students for success in school and life. Freedom School instills a lifelong love of reading in our scholars.
JOB CLASSIFICATION

POSITION SUMMARY
As a Learning Coach with Freedom School, you are responsible for planning and facilitating engaging academic enrichment lessons with an assigned group of students, to help them learn new concepts and expand their learning. Your duties include developing and facilitating lesson plans, providing academic support for students, and assigning additional projects and answering a student's questions about a topic. You will report to the Manager of Extended Learning Programs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborate with staff to establish and maintain a supportive and structured environment for the youth entrusted to their care Serve as a facilitator or assistant to implement summer program activities and other special events, including chaperone field trips hosted during program hours Collaborate with athletic, social and cultural enrichment partners to implement summer activities Complete required documentation, including attendance rosters Participate in staff meetings and professional development activities to support summer programming Assist with the distribution and cleanup of snacks and lunch Set up and break down classroom space, including securing and organizing the appropriate materials Perform other duties as assigned Facilitate individual and/or small group sessions with students Participate in the organization's continuing learning, including on issues of racial equity and equity in general Attend professional development to learn and facilitate Elev8 Summer Literacy Curriculum Organize and collect data from student surveys Professional writing skills are a plus. Knowledge of Microsoft Suite including Word, Teams, and Excel Be professional and on-time. Attendance is critical! Communication And Documentation Establish and maintain communication with Elev8 Managers and Leadership about student progress and aspects of the programs Complete all required paperwork in a timely manner Maintain all required documentation including, but not limited to, enrollment forms, case notes, daily attendance, formative and summative assessments, participant surveys, student snap shots, etc. in alignment with grant and organizational standards Provide verbal and written reports as needed to manager(s) Agency/Team Cohesion Responsible for facilitating and attending mandatory departmental meetings. Attend agency meetings and events Complete required training on time Maintain compliance with agency policies and procedures Prepare for and attend regularly scheduled meetings with supervisor Uphold organization values related to race, equity, and liberation of people and communities of color
QUALIFICATIONS
Be available Full Time for 8-10 weeks. High School diploma required College-enrolled students, former teachers, recent high school graduates are encouraged to apply All will be considered and not limited to those listed above. Must have a commitment to working with students from a strength-based perspective Must exhibit positive attitude Mature and professional demeanor Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to the ethics of good character, humility, and servant leadership Authorization for background check for criminal and child protective findings Be professional and on-time. Attendance is critical!
COMPENSATION
