Job Description

Redline Athletics Bowie is seeking an energetic, experienced, and passionate Basketball Academy Coach to help lead and grow our basketball development programming. This role is ideal for a coach who understands basketball skill development, athlete progression, and how to create a high-energy and engaging training environment for youth athletes. The Basketball Academy Coach will be responsible for implementing structured basketball training sessions, conducting athlete evaluations, and delivering a positive and results-driven experience for athletes and families. We are looking for a coach who can teach the game, connect with athletes and parents, and help build a program athletes are excited to attend consistently. About Redline Athletics Bowie Redline Athletics Bowie is a premier youth sports performance training facility serving athletes ages 8-18 throughout Bowie, Prince George's County, Anne Arundel County, and surrounding areas. Our facility focuses on helping athletes improve confidence, athleticism, movement, and overall performance in a positive, structured, and results-driven environment. Key Responsibilities Basketball Coaching & Athlete Development Lead high-energy basketball training sessions Teach proper basketball fundamentals and mechanics Provide instruction, corrections, motivation, and athlete feedback Conduct athlete evaluations and assist with progression recommendations Assist with basketball programming and curriculum implementation Athlete & Parent Experience Build positive relationships with athletes and families Help athletes develop confidence, discipline, and consistency Communicate athlete progress and recommendations when appropriate Program Support & Growth Support the continued growth of basketball programming Participate in community or sporting events (1-2 per month) Attend athlete games when requested (paid opportunities) Assist with camps, clinics, and additional basketball training opportunities Qualifications Previous basketball skill development coaching experience required Experience running clinics, camps, or basketball training programs preferred Collegiate or professional playing experience strongly preferred Strong understanding of basketball fundamentals and athlete development High-energy coaching style with excellent communication skills Ability to motivate and engage beginner and intermediate athletes Reliable transportation required Ability to pass a background check required CPR/AED certification preferred
Schedule & Availability Monday, Wednesday, Friday:
5:00 PM - 8:00 PM Every other Saturday required Additional opportunities available through camps, clinics, private training, and events Expected hours: 15+ hours per week Compensation Hourly compensation Additional incentive opportunities Revenue share opportunities through camps, clinics, team training, and private lessons Who This Role Is For Coaches passionate about athlete development Individuals who bring energy, accountability, and leadership to every session Coaches who want to help build a respected basketball development program Leaders who understand the importance of consistency, structure, and culture
Pay:
$22.00 - $25.00 per hour
