Assistant JV Boys Soccer Coach

Glenelg Country School (GCS) is an independent day school serving students age 2 - grade 12. Our mission is to cultivate a diverse community of learners who discover, contribute, thrive, and excel. These principles serve as a foundation for all we do. GCS is seeking an Assistant Head JV Boys Soccer Coach to be responsible for coaching, mentoring, instructing skills and techniques, and building a sense of community within the team, program, and school. The Assistant Head JV Boys Soccer Coach works under the guidance and in coordination with the Varsity and JV coaching staff in achieving the program and school-wide goals.

Overview of Essential Functions:

Attend all team activities (games, practices, gatherings, meetings). Assist in the supervision of transportation to and from games as needed. Assist with email communication with players and families during the season Attend all required athletic department or league meetings. Responsible for all athletes, equipment, and facilities used while coaching. Coaches are responsible for reporting game results to athletic directors as well as responding to emails within 24 hours when in season.

Desired Education and Experience:

Previous High School, Club Level, or College Level coaching and/or playing experience is preferred.

Key Skills and Attributes:

Interested individuals should possess: Knowledge of fundamental soccer skill and strategy. Good verbal and written communication skills. Leadership skills as the leader of the team. Ability to collaborate with coaching staff. Good driving record and ability to drive the school minibus.

Physical Demands:

Standing for long periods of time. Riding a school bus long periods of time. Drive a minibus. Must be able to carry 25 pounds.

Compensation Range:

The compensation range for this position is $1,000 - $2,000 per season. This position does not have benefits associated with it due to the part-time nature.
