Located north of Baltimore, TU currently enrolls over 19,000 students and is the second-largest university in the prestigious University System of Maryland. Towson University fosters a climate that is grounded in respect and supports the intellectual and personal growth of the entire university community. Towson University, a Division I member of the Coastal Athletic Association, is accepting applications for an Assistant Coach for Women's Lacrosse. This position, under the direction of the head coach, teaches and provides instruction in the sport of women's lacrosse and assists in the planning, promotion, and administration of a quality Division I women's lacrosse program. Responsibilities and Duties Responsibilities for the Assistant Coach for Women's Lacrosse include, but are not limited to the following: Assisting in planning and conducting practices scouting sessions Developing and enhancing players' technical skills and understanding of tactical systems Supporting operational tasks including, but not limited to: o Film review and analysis o Arranging travel accommodations o Coordinating team meals Monitoring and supporting student-athletes' academic performance Assisting with all recruiting responsibilities and talent identification of prospective student-athletes Ensuring personal and program adherence to all institutional, conference, and NCAA rules/requirements Promoting the women's lacrosse program and Towson University athletics through various channels Organizing and participating in community service activities Assisting with other duties as assigned by the head coach or Athletic Department The work hours for this position include nights and weekends, as necessary. Travel is required.
Qualifications and Skills Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree One year of lacrosse coaching experience at the high school, collegiate, camp/clinic, or professional level Knowledge of strategies and skills in the sport of women's lacrosse, as well as University, conference, and NCAA rules/regulations/requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree Experience in coaching at the Division I level Salary and Benefits Targeted hiring range is $65,000 - $75,000 and University benefits that include up to 17 holidays, and sick days; excellent health, life, and retirement plans; and For consideration, please submit a cover letter and resume with your online application.
