Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and energetic Middle School Football Head Coach to lead and inspire our student-athletes. This dynamic role involves developing young athletes' skills, fostering teamwork, and promoting sportsmanship within a supportive environment. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in sports coaching, physical education, and working with young athletes, creating a positive and motivating atmosphere that encourages growth both on and off the field. As Head Coach, you will be responsible for planning practices, guiding game strategies, and ensuring the safety and well-being of all players. Duties Lead all aspects of our community-based middle school age football program, including planning practices, coordinating game schedules, and developing training sessions that improve athletic skills. Foster a team-oriented environment by teaching sportsmanship, discipline, and positive behavior management strategies. Mentor student-athletes in goal setting, leadership development, and personal growth through sports. Ensure fhat all safety protocols are followed during practices and games. Organize team meetings, parent communications, and coordinate transportation for away games. Requirements Proven experience in sports coaching, particularly football or related team sports at the middle school level. Strong background in physical education teaching or related fields such as teaching physical education classes. Knowledge of behavior management techniques to motivate students and maintain discipline on and off the field. Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds with patience and enthusiasm. Compensation & Benefits The Portland Tide Head Coach is a stipend-based position employed for the traditional fall football season. Past Tide head coaches are currently serving as both high school and collegiate head coaches.
