Job Description
Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated coach for the 7th Grade Girls Volleyball team at Charlotte Middle School. This seasonal position is responsible for fostering a positive and competitive environment for student-athletes while promoting teamwork, sportsmanship, and skill development. The ideal candidate will inspire young athletes to improve their volleyball skills and build confidence both on and off the court. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement practice plans that focus on skill development, teamwork, and game strategies.
- Conduct daily practices and prepare athletes for competitive games, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
- Organize and manage all aspects of the team, including scheduling practices, games, and transportation.
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team expectations, schedules, and individual progress.
- Monitor the academic and athletic performance of team members, promoting a balanced approach to sports and education.
- Foster a culture of respect, inclusivity, and sportsmanship among players.
- Assist in the recruitment of new players and promote the volleyball program within the school community.
- Attend all games and practices, providing guidance and support to athletes during competitions.
- Evaluate player performance and provide constructive feedback to enhance their skills and teamwork.
- Adhere to all school policies and regulations regarding athletics and student conduct. Requirements
- Previous coaching experience, preferably at the middle school or high school level, with a focus on volleyball.
- Strong knowledge of volleyball rules, techniques, and strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire young athletes.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other coaches, school staff, and parents.
- First Aid and CPR certification is preferred or must be obtained prior to the start of the season.
- A commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive team culture.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends during the season.
- A background check will be required prior to employment.
- A passion for youth sports and a desire to contribute to the personal and athletic development of student-athletes.
