Job Description
Job Summary Durand High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our coaching staff as a Varsity Assistant Football Coach. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of student-athletes both on and off the field. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of football strategies, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive team environment. Responsibilities Assist the head coach in planning and implementing effective practice sessions and game strategies. Support the development of athletes' skills, techniques, and overall performance. Provide guidance and mentorship to student-athletes, promoting personal growth and teamwork. Collaborate with the coaching staff to analyze game footage and assess team performance. Help manage game-day operations, including player warm-ups, equipment setup, and coordination with referees. Maintain open communication with athletes, parents, and school administration regarding team activities and expectations. Participate in recruiting efforts to attract prospective student-athletes to the program. Ensure compliance with all school, district, and state athletic policies and regulations. Foster a culture of sportsmanship, respect, and integrity among players and coaches. Assist in organizing team events, fundraisers, and community outreach initiatives. Requirements Previous coaching experience at the high school level or higher, preferably in football. Strong knowledge of football fundamentals, techniques, and strategies. Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes. Ability to work collaboratively with coaching staff, school personnel, and parents. Strong organizational and time management skills. CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain). Commitment to the academic success and personal development of student-athletes. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed during the football season. A passion for the game and a desire to contribute positively to the athletic program at Durand High School.
