The ideal candidate will have a strong background in wrestling, a commitment to student-athlete development, and the ability to foster a positive and competitive team environment. This seasonal position will support the head coach in all aspects of the wrestling program, ensuring a successful and enriching experience for our student-athletes. Responsibilities Assist the head coach in planning and implementing practice sessions, drills, and strategies to enhance team performance. Provide instruction and support to student-athletes in skill development, technique, and sportsmanship. Help organize and supervise team activities, including competitions, tournaments, and fundraising events. Monitor the academic progress and overall well-being of student-athletes, promoting a balanced approach to athletics and academics. Collaborate with the head coach to evaluate individual and team performance, providing constructive feedback for improvement. Assist in the recruitment and retention of student-athletes, fostering a welcoming and inclusive team culture. Ensure compliance with all relevant athletic regulations and guidelines, including safety protocols and eligibility requirements. Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and school administration regarding team updates, schedules, and expectations. Attend coaching clinics and workshops to stay updated on best practices and developments in the sport. Requirements Previous experience in wrestling as a coach, athlete, or official, with a strong understanding of the sport's techniques and strategies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. A commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive team environment. Knowledge of safety protocols and first aid procedures related to wrestling. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, during the wrestling season. CPR and First Aid certification preferred, or willingness to obtain certification prior to the start of the season. A high school diploma or equivalent; a college degree in a related field is a plus.
