Boys Head JV Tennis Coach Okemos Public Schools - 4.4 Okemos, MI Job Details Seasonal 1 day ago Qualifications Sports coaching Team motivation (leadership skill) Full Job Description Summary Okemos High School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to lead our Boys Head JV Tennis Coach for the upcoming season. The ideal candidate will have a passion for tennis and youth development, with the ability to inspire and motivate student-athletes. This position is a seasonal role that involves coaching, mentoring, and fostering a positive team environment while promoting sportsmanship and teamwork. Responsibilities Develop and implement a comprehensive training program for the junior varsity boys' tennis team. Conduct regular practices and drills to enhance players' skills and game strategies. Organize and oversee team competitions, including matches and tournaments. Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that encourages sportsmanship and respect. Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team activities and expectations. Monitor and evaluate player performance, providing constructive feedback for improvement. Ensure compliance with school policies and athletic regulations. Collaborate with the varsity coaching staff to align training and development goals. Promote and uphold the values of Okemos High School and its athletic program. Requirements Previous coaching experience, preferably in tennis or a related sport. Strong knowledge of tennis techniques, strategies, and rules of the game. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain). A commitment to fostering a positive and respectful team environment. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed for practices and matches. A background check and adherence to school district policies are required. Applications accepted until filled.
