The ideal candidate will have a passion for basketball, a commitment to fostering student-athlete development, and the ability to create a positive and competitive team environment. This seasonal position will involve coaching, mentoring, and guiding young athletes in their skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Responsibilities Develop and implement effective practice plans and game strategies to enhance team performance. Conduct daily practices that focus on skill development, conditioning, and team cohesion. Coach during games, providing real-time feedback and adjustments to improve performance. Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes respect, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team expectations, schedules, and player progress. Monitor and support the academic and personal development of student-athletes. Collaborate with the varsity coaching staff to align team goals and strategies. Organize and oversee team events, including games, tournaments, and fundraisers. Ensure compliance with all school policies and regulations, as well as state and national athletic guidelines. Maintain equipment and facilities, ensuring a safe and conducive environment for practice and competition. Requirements Previous coaching experience in basketball, preferably at the high school level. Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, strategies, and rules. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire young athletes. Ability to work collaboratively with players, parents, and school staff. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain). A valid driver's license and reliable transportation. A commitment to promoting academic achievement and personal growth among student-athletes. Must pass a background check as required by school policy. Applications accepted until filled.
