Monroe Middle School Position Summary:
Monroe Middle School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Middle School Cheer Coach to lead both the sideline and competitive cheer programs. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, organizational skills, and a commitment to fostering student-athlete growth both on and off the mat. This position is responsible for developing athletes' skills, promoting sportsmanship, and ensuring compliance with all MHSAA and district regulations.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Previous cheer coaching experience at the middle school, high school, or club level is preferred . Strong knowledge of cheerleading techniques, safety protocols, and competition strategies. Ability to develop and implement structured practice plans that promote skill development and teamwork. Proven ability to lead and mentor student-athletes in a positive and constructive manner. Commitment to maintaining a culture of sportsmanship, professionalism, and respect among athletes, staff, and the broader school community. Compliance with all MHSAA coaching requirements , including completion of required training and certification (e.g., CPR/First Aid and concussion training). Willingness to uphold and enforce MHSAA, district, and school codes of conduct related to athletics and academic eligibility. Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with administration, teachers, parents, and support staff. Ability to promote and uphold high academic standards for all student-athletes.
Responsibilities:
Plan, organize, and lead team practices, conditioning, and skill development sessions. Coordinate and oversee sideline cheer performances for athletic events and prepare the team for competitive cheer events. Ensure adherence to all MHSAA rules and regulations , as well as school district policies. Foster a team culture that prioritizes safety, inclusivity, and a positive student-athlete experience. Maintain equipment, uniforms, and program resources as needed. Communicate regularly with parents, athletes, and school staff regarding schedules, expectations, and team updates. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated coach to positively impact student-athletes and build a strong cheer program at Monroe Middle School.
