Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework in education or related field preferred Prior basketball playing and/or coaching experience preferred Strong knowledge of fundamental basketball skills, rules, and game strategies Ability to work effectively with middle school-aged students Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills Completion of coaching certification programs (e.g., NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching) preferred or required Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification through organizations such as the American Red Cross or American Heart Association Completion of concussion awareness and sports safety training as required by state or district guidelines Ability to pass a criminal background check and fingerprinting Availability for after-school practices, games, and occasional weekend events
