Qualifications:
This position requires as a minimum, the following: 1. Prior coaching experience & extensive volleyball experience required. 2. Previous satisfactory work experience with high school students 3. Ability to work and communicate with school age students 4. Ability to promote academics, sportsmanship and school competition 5. Coaching positions require knowledge of first aide and injury care. 6. Extensive background in program fundamentals, program development, and student-parent relations. 7. Must pass criminal history background check 8. Knowledge of first aid injury care Reports to:
Athletic Director Job Goals:
To instruct athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success. At the same time, the student shall receive instruction that will lead to the formulation of values, pride of accomplishment, acceptable social behavior, self-discipline and self-confidence.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Has a thorough knowledge of all athletic policies approved by the Sault Area Public Schools Board of Education. 2. Has knowledge of existing system, state and league regulations; implements same consistently and interprets them. 3. Understands the proper administrative line of command.
COACHING STAFF RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Establishes the fundamental philosophy, skills and techniques to be taught by other coaching staff. 2. Participates in professional growth by attending clinics. 3. Maintains discipline and works to increase morale and cooperation. 4. Perform such other duties which may be assigned by the athletic administrator/principal.
