Job Description
Part-Time, 10-Month Position Position Summary The Athletics Department at Spring Arbor University, a member of the NAIA and the Crossroads League, invites applications for the part-time (10-month) position of Assistant Track & Field Coach - Jumps. Reporting to the Head Track & Field Coach, this position supports all aspects of the jumps program, including student-athlete development, training implementation, recruiting support, and program operations. Essential Responsibilities Assist with coaching and instruction for jumping events within the Track & Field program Support the design and implementation of training plans and practice sessions Foster a positive and supportive environment for student-athletes academically, athletically, socially, and personally Communicate effectively with student-athletes, coaching staff, and university personnel Assist with recruiting efforts and program promotion, as assigned Support team travel, meet operations, and other administrative responsibilities Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head Coach or Athletic Director Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position. Qualifications Previous coaching experience in track & field, preferably in jumps events Knowledge of training principles and athlete development Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills Ability to mentor and support college student-athletes Bachelor's degree preferred Preferred Attributes Passion for track & field and student-athlete development Ability to motivate, teach, and encourage student-athletes in both athletics and academics Commitment to fostering an inclusive and respectful team culture Experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and perspectives preferred Spring Arbor University is a Christian university affiliated with the Free Methodist Church.
