Full Job Description Required:
Previous experience in gymnastics events: vault, uneven bars, balance beam, and floor BS/BA degree
Valid Driver's License Preferred:
Knowledge of NCAA and BIG 10 rules and regulations Previous gymnastics experience at the Division 1 Level in vault, uneven bars, balance beam, and floor Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills Duties This position will spend approximately 35% of the time assisting the head coach in instructing and teaching student athletes in fundamentals of sport technique and strategy as well as planning and executing practice and competition plans. Additional responsibilities may include team warm-ups, strength and conditioning, choreography, spotting, and meet management. In addition, they will spend 25% of their time recruiting and evaluating qualified athletes to the University of Minnesota. The remaining 40% of their time will be devoted to operational duties, including but not limited to securing judges for the season, planning and executing team travel, preparing and submitting budget expenses, preparing all recruiting communication, calendar management, and working as a liaison with various contacts within the department. In addition, the following are expectations of every member of the staff: Establish and maintain effective relationships within the athletics department, the University, community, boosters, clubs, alumni, high school coaches, media, and the general public. Represent the University and its athletic programs in a positive fashion. Commit to adhering to all rules and regulations of the department, the University, the Big Ten Conference, and the NCAA.
