Paul Academy and Summit School:
St. Paul Academy and Summit School (SPA) is a coeducational, non-sectarian, college-preparatory day school serving more than 920 students in Prekindergarten through grade 12. Our three campuses are located approximately a mile apart in St. Paul, Minnesota. Our Goodrich Campus serves students in grades K-5, and our Randolph Campus serves students in grades 6-12. Our Prekindergarten is located on the campus of St. Catherine's University and serves children beginning at age 4. The school draws students from St. Paul, Minneapolis, and throughout the eastern and western suburbs. Position Description:
This coach will work closely with the head coach of the Volleyball program and other assistant coaches to train our highly motivated and dedicated student athletes. This coach will also work with multiple levels of ability. This coach will serve as an important part in the skill development of student-athletes and will be responsible for supporting the vision for the program and nurturing our student-athletes in a positive, education-based athletic philosophy. The position begins August 2026 and continues through November 2026. Candidates will be required to demonstrate strong organizational skills, effective communication skills with students, other coaches, parents, and administration, as well as teaching and develop skills to improve the technical ability of student-athletes with varying levels of experience. Candidates should support the mission of SPA, nurturing student-athletes in a positive educational-based athletic philosophy and have an ability to foster a positive team culture where student athletes gain the ability to work together as a team. Specific Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Assisting the head coach to run practices and high school competitions Communicating with coaches about practice and game strategy and plans, training feedback and tournament feedback, etc. Communicating with student athletes about their goals and achievements as well as providing individualized feedback. Attend team competitions and HS tournaments Attend team events like preseason meetings, team picture day and end-of-season banquet, etc. Maintain a safe, positive and fun environment while recognizing the contributions of all; impressing upon the athletes and parents that their efforts are valued Participate as a positive team member in the development and support of excellence within the Athletic Department.
Requirements:
A qualified candidate should have coaching experience at various skill levels in a competitive environment and/or in a state association like the MSHSL. Qualified applicants must include a list of references and a cover letter.
