Position Summary:

South Harrison R-2 is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Middle School Boys Assistant Basketball Coach to support the development of student-athletes both on and off the court. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching the game of basketball, mentoring young athletes, and contributing to a positive team culture.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist the Head Coach in planning and conducting practices, games, and team activities Teach fundamental basketball skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship Help organize and supervise team events, including games, travel, and workouts Support player development in alignment with the school's athletic philosophy Promote academic success and positive behavior among student-athletes Ensure compliance with school, district, and league policies Assist with equipment management and gym setup as needed

Qualifications:

Previous basketball coaching and/or playing experience preferred Experience working with middle school-aged students is highly desirable Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills Ability to work collaboratively with coaching staff, students, and parents Must pass required background checks and meet district hiring requirements
