Job Title:
Coach/Sponsor Responsible to:
AthleticDirector/Principal Qualifications:
  • Missouri State Teaching Certificate (Head Coach)
  • Substitute Certificate (Assistant Coach)
Primary Functions:
  • To develop a program for the students, school and community.
General Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all paperwork is on file and submitted in a timely manner to the appropriate office.
  • Monitor academics, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Supervise all students under your control.
  • Follow all school and MSHSAA guidelines regarding athletic safety.
  • Work with the athletic director in the appointment and evaluation of assistants.
  • Conform to athletic department policy in ordering equipment and supplies and turning in an end of the year inventory list.
  • Plan and supervise all practice sessions.
  • Conform to activities policies in handling injuries; report all serious injuries immediately to the parents and athletic director.
  • Stay up to date in current coaching philosophies and trends.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with administration, staff members, coaches, players and parents, emphasizing the proper chain of command.
Report all results to the area newspapers, radio and television stations.
