Job Description

SFCC provides a high-quality, geographically, financially and emotionally accessible education to students who range from traditional college-age students to adult learners. The college offers associates of fine arts, associate of science and associate of applied science degrees, professional and skill certificates, and noncredit courses and programs, and workforce development training in a 14-county area in central Missouri with location in Sedalia, Boonville, Clinton Eldon, Lake of the Ozarks, Warsaw, at Whiteman Air Force Base, and online
Position Purpose:
The Assistant Shooting Sports Coach will help the Head Shooting Sports Coach with practices, shooting events, and any other duties assigned by head coach and athletic director. Individual will advise student-athletes and help benefit SFCC Shooting Sports Program. Essential Job Functions Schedule, post and keep office hours as required by college policy Assist with advising student athletes. Attend required meetings. Must be capable of effectively motivation and supervising students. Must maintain a professional relationship with students and peers. Coaching duties assigned by the Head Shooting Sports Coach A willingness to take on additional responsibility and work collaboratively, both within the unit and campus wide. Other duties as deemed necessary for the function of the college. Operates within the guidelines of SFCC Travel with the Shooting Sports team for events and competitions Knowledge of ATA, NSSA, and NSCA rules and regulations Knowledge of NJCAA and Region 16 rules and regulations The preceding duties have been provided as examples of the essential types of work performed by positions within this job classification. Management reserves the right to add, modify, change or rescind work assignments as needed.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's Degree is preferred. Collegiate playing experience and two years of high school or college coaching experience required. Or managing/assistant managing of shooting sports facility. Valid driver's license with Class E 15 passenger endorsement and ability to meet college's insurance requirements for driving vehicles required or willing to be obtained.
Skills :
Ability to lead and motivate others to perform at high levels. Ability to teach and advise student-athletes throughout the season. A willingness to take on additional responsibility and work collaboratively. Other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to interact verbally in person, over the phone, and via written and electronic media. Ability to travel for shooting events etc... Ability to lift 20-50lbs Ability to move about campus and other locations. Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time. •Completed applications will include cover letter, resume, three contact references, and unofficial transcripts (official transcripts must be requested upon hire). Employment will require a criminal background check at college expense. Preference is given to Missouri residents.
