Job Description
- Assists the Head Coach (HC) in organizing, preparing, instructing, and conducting individual and team practices, training and competition, using Christian principles and judgement consistent with the mission, vision, and strategic direction of the BMCU Athletic Department.
- Help with identifying potential student athletes for the women's basketball program, in accordance with BMCU, SSAC and NAIA regulations, guidelines, and policies.
- Recruits prospective student-athletes who adhere to the NAIA Champions of Character initiatives and who strive for academic achievement, competitive greatness and spiritual/character development.
- Adheres to and supports the HC in monitoring and reinforcing all institutional, conference and NAIA by-laws and regulations.
- Assists with team scheduling, team travel arrangements, evaluating talent of prospective, and returning student-athletes, promoting and marketing the assigned athletic program, scouting opponents and fundraising, upon direction of the HC.
- Fosters, assists, and leads interactions that inspire spiritual and character development through all student and staff relations and that build a cohesive and positive team culture here at BMCU.
- Other duties as assigned by the head coach, athletic department or institution, including gymnasium cleanliness and maintenance
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information discreetly. Ability to work well with individuals with diverse backgrounds. Excellent organizational skills and efficiency in recordkeeping. Ability to establish positive working relationships with members of the College community and members of the public. Attention to detail and follow through. Ability to work independently to perform assigned tasks. Ability to work irregular hours including evenings and weekends. Must have a valid driver's license and be able to operate school vehicles.
