Position Summary Information Primary Purpose The athletic program at Appalachian State University operates on the premise that intercollegiate athletics is an integral part of the institution's overall program of education. This position will represent the athletics director in various capacities. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree and four years of college coaching or Division I playing experience. License/Certification Required Preferred Qualifications Bachelors degree and four years of college coaching or Division I playing experience. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Primary responsibilities are to assist the Head Coach in all aspects of a Division I Women's Soccer program. The responsibilities may include but are not limited to: assisting with practice planning, organization and execution, on field coaching during training and individual sessions, coordination of student athlete recruiting, arranging team travel, organization of compliance administrative forms, game day personnel management, organizing alumni events, equipment inventory, recruiting, fundraising, social media monitoring, community service monitoring and other duties as assigned by the Head Coach. Lead on the coaching staff for academic accountability & mentor for student-athletes. Candidates must be committed to the academic and athletic success of the student-athlete and be willing to adhere to all Sun Belt Conference, Appalachian State University and NCAA Regulations. 75% of duties related to coaching / instructing.
