Duke Club Rowing is seeking a head coach in the Triangle to lead a competitive, student-driven collegiate club program. Our members are learners by nature. They value trust and respect in the boat so that committed members can emerge as invested student leaders. Our ideal candidate would instill that culture with consistency and take pride in developing new athletes and varsity alike. Responsibilities Lead 4-5 practices per week, both water and erg room sessions Travel to major regattas and annual spring training trip Share boat trailering with certified student drivers Teach novice rowers during recruitment weeks Create and adjust race line-ups ahead of regattas Set weekly training plans that align with seasonal goals Collaborate with student executive board and Duke Staff •Weekday practice times contingent on daylight and team availability, with prior slots approx. 6:00-8:00 AM or 5:00-6:30 PM. Spring training 2026 will be held in Gainesville, GA at Lake Lanier. Regatta locations are typically held within the Mid-Atlantic. Qualifications Prior coaching experience (2-4 + years preferred but not strictly required) Ability to coach both male and female collegiate athletes Ability to collaborate within a student-run club structure Capable of effective feedback for athletes on and off the water Compensation $30/hour for scheduled practices Stipends for regatta and spring break travel Full coverage for housing and food while traveling Access to Duke Wilson Gym facilities Gas reimbursement for practice commute Application Process To apply, email a 1-2 page resume to clubrowing@duke.edu AND kareen.kaur@duke.edu Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until June 30th at 11:59 PM.
