Job Description

Announcement Summary Fayetteville Technical Community College is seeking qualified applicants for this part-time position. The Women's Softball Coach is responsible for planning, operating, and evaluating the Women's Softball program at the College to ensure fiscal responsibility and compliance with NJCAA rules and regulations. Pending educational qualifications and instructional needs in high demand programs, qualifying candidates can be assigned instructional duties within academic programs that could extend to full-time employment. Duties Essential Duties- Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: Under the direction of the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics, the Athletic Coach is responsible for planning, operating, and evaluating one of the athletic programs at the College to ensure fiscal responsibility and compliance with NJCAA rules and regulations. Motivate student-athletes to succeed in athletic competitions, academic programs, and become productive citizens. Recruit, advise, and sign student-athletes for team participation. Advise student-athletes and staff of and monitor compliance with applicable intercollegiate athletic rules, regulations, and College policies to ensure compliance. Inform student-athletes of academic requirements and other matters pertaining to their enrollment and educational progress to meet and maintain eligibility. In coordination with the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics, monitor student-athlete academic performance and implement team, athletic department, and College measures to support their academic performance. Plan and instruct student-athletes in athletic skill development. Ensure appropriate safety measures are observed and practiced by athletes in team activities. Work with Regional Athletic Directors and coaches on the selection and scheduling of team contests. Coordinate all activities in preparation for scheduled competition. Interact with senior executives internal and external to the organization. Work within budgetary guidelines established by the College. Attend all team practices as well as all home and away contests. Assume responsibility for student-athlete compliance with all NJCAA rules and regulations. Assists in resolving cases where a student-athlete violates applicable regulations. Work with alumni student groups, College administration, and community groups to seek support for the team. Assist with additional tasks as assigned to further advance the College and student success. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work related to assigned area of responsibility, or equivalent. Experience in lieu of education will be considered. First-aid training and CPR/AED certification required. One to three years of experience in recreation, physical fitness or wellness facility, sports management, or coaching athletic programs. Valid Drivers License required. Preferred Requirements A Master degree is preferred from an accredited college with major course work related to assigned area of responsibility, or equivalent. Valid CDL License is preferred.
