Staff Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Head Women's Basketball Coach, the Assistant Women's Basketball Coach will aid in all aspects of recruiting, training, competition preparation, and in-game coaching for NJIT's Division I Women's Basketball program. This position will also operate under University regulations and America East Conference & NCAA bylaws.
NCAA Compliance:
Knowledge of and adherence to applicable NCAA rules, regulations, bylaws, constitutions and related university rules, regulations and policies.
Essential Functions:
Designated responsibilities as given by the head coach. Assist in organizing and preparing for individual and team practices, training and competition preparation. Leads, monitors and coordinates training and practice sessions ensuring that appropriate safety guidelines and standards are maintained. Assisting with game scouting of opponents & assisting Head Coach in preparation of game plan for all opponents. Assist in the identification and recruitment of prospective student-athletes for the women's intercollegiate basketball program, in accordance with NCAA rules, regulations, guidelines, and institutional standards. Perform constant evaluation of team and individual performances. Assist with player development for the program. Under the supervision of the Head Coach, develop training methods to improve the overall skill development of players both in/out of season. Support the Learning Center's initiatives in monitoring and advising of the program's student-athletes. Promote a program culture of academic success and degree progress. Assist in oversight of team and enforcement of all established Athletic Department team travel and code of conduct policies when away from NJIT. Help establish and maintain positive and effective relationships with NJIT Alumni. Represent the sports program to various institutional programs and to government agencies, funding agencies, students, parents and the general public. Support the program's media relations and promotional initiatives. Provides assistance in the coordination and administration of the program as required including assisting with scheduling, travel arrangements, and purchasing & managing team equipment & apparel. Teach a Physical Education activities class if deemed necessary. Maintain current health care certifications. (First aid, CPR/AED). Perform other duties as assigned by Head coach, and/or Athletic Director.
Prerequisite Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree required. Minimum of 4 years coaching experience at the collegiate or a highly competitive high school/prep school or club level. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with others. Demonstrated competitive coaching skills in the area of sport specialty. Knowledge of applicable playing rules and NCAA rules. Must possess the ability to foster a cooperative environment. Valid driver's license. At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be accepted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.

Salary Information:
In compliance with the NJ Pay Transparency Law, the negotiated annual salary range for this position is $63,129.05-$93,200.46 (USD). NJIT considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses or other items.
