Job Description

About The Grind Academy Starting June 1, 2026, The Grind Academy will launch a new athletic development program operating independently from the academy. This system-based performance training environment is designed to develop middle school and high school athletes through a comprehensive model centered on data-driven decision-making and progressive development. Position Overview We are seeking motivated, coachable, and driven individuals for our 8-week progressive Strength & Conditioning. This is not a passive coaching position—this is a structured development experience designed to build high-level coaches from the ground up. Interns will be immersed in a performance-driven environment and developed through a progressive hierarchy of applied coaching responsibilities and system implementation. What You'll Gain Hands-on coaching experience with middle school, high school, and collegiate athletes Exposure to a fully integrated athletic performance system Development in communication, leadership, and coaching presence Education across all facets of performance training, including: Strength & Conditioning principles Speed, agility, and movement mechanics Program design and system integration Athlete assessment and progression models Coaching Development Structure This is an 8-week progressive development program designed to move coaches through stages of responsibility: Phase 1: Observation & System Understanding Learn the training model, session flow, and coaching language Understand foundational movement standards and expectations Phase 2: Assisted Coaching Begin assisting with session setup, athlete management, and basic coaching cues Develop confidence in communication and floor presence Phase 3: Applied Coaching Lead segments of training sessions Apply coaching principles in real-time with athletes Phase 4: System Integration & Leadership Take ownership of small group training Contribute to program design and system execution Demonstrate readiness for potential hiring Responsibilities Assist in coaching and supervising training sessions Set up and break down training equipment Engage with athletes in a professional and energetic manner Learn and apply performance training systems and principles Contribute to a positive, disciplined training environment Qualifications Passion for strength & conditioning and athletic performance Strong work ethic and willingness to learn Interest in coaching as a career path Background in athletics, kinesiology, or related field preferred (not required) Ability to communicate clearly and confidently Punctual, reliable, and team-oriented Schedule Starting June 1, 2026 Flexible based on training schedule (afternoons/evenings primarily) Must be available consistently throughout the 8-week program
