As part of this commitment, we incorporate community based experiences into our educational program, including physical education at local tennis courts. These experiences help students build healthy habits, confidence, independence, and a sense of connection to the Reno community. Position Overview We are seeking an enthusiastic and nurturing Tennis Instructor to provide small group tennis instruction for Kindergarten and First Grade students. Lessons will take place at local tennis courts and focus on introducing young children to the fundamentals of tennis in a fun, engaging, and age appropriate environment. The instructor will help students develop basic tennis skills while promoting confidence, teamwork, sportsmanship, and a love of physical activity. Responsibilities Lead small group tennis sessions for Kindergarten and First Grade students. Teach age appropriate tennis fundamentals, including racket skills, coordination, movement, and basic game concepts. Create a positive, supportive, and inclusive environment where all students feel encouraged to participate. Plan and implement fun activities and drills that promote skill development and enjoyment of the sport. Provide individualized attention and encouragement within a small group setting. Ensure student safety and supervise participants at all times during lessons. Foster good sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect among students. Communicate effectively with school staff regarding student progress and program needs. Qualifications Experience coaching tennis or teaching youth sports preferred. Experience working with young children, particularly elementary aged students. Strong communication and group management skills. Ability to create engaging and developmentally appropriate activities for young learners. Reliable, energetic, and passionate about working with children.
