Job Description
Part-time seasonal opening (fall/winter seasons) for a Modified Coach at Academy of the Holy Names (Albany, NY), the Capital Region's only all-girls, private, Catholic, college-preparatory school for grades 6-12. Candidate must have experience coaching or participating in cheer. Include skill building, cheer basics, and routine choreography.
Key Responsibilities:
Teach and develop fundamental cheerleading skills including motions, jumps, basic stunting, and beginner tumbling Create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for all athletes Choreograph and teach routines for games and showcases (choreography experience preferred) Emphasize teamwork, sportsmanship, and confidence-building Plan and lead organized, productive practices Ensure athlete safety at all times and follow all school/league guidelines Communicate effectively with athletes, families, and school staff
Qualifications :
Cheerleading experience (coaching or participation) required Strong knowledge of skill progressions and proper technique Routine choreography experience preferred Ability to motivate and connect with middle/high school athletes Organized, reliable, and energetic If you're passionate about cheerleading and love working with athletes in a fun, growth-focused setting, we'd love to have you join our team!
