Job Description:

Dutchess Community College seeks a talented Assistant Men's Basketball Coach to join the growing athletic department for the 2026-2027 academic year. The coach is responsible for the organization, administration, and coaching of the Basketball program, including supervising staff and student-athletes.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Attend, coordinate, and facilitate activities at daily practices and competitions. Execute a clearly defined philosophy of coaching and teaching "sport." Recruit sufficiently qualified student-athletes. Effectively execute fundraising activities, including camps and clinics to help meet teams' financial goals. Monitor student-athletes' academic progress and provide support. Scout and prepare team for competition.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Comply with College, NJCAA, Region 15, and Mid-Hudson Conference rules and regulations and all other aspects of directing a quality intercollegiate Basketball program.

Valid NY Driver's License Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Associate's Degree At least two years of Basketball coaching experience at the high school level

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree and at least two years of Basketball coaching at the collegiate level

Additional Information:

This position is based on a 10-month employment agreement at $1000 - $2000 per year.
