Job Summary Committed to student learning by ensuring student access to programs and services, helping to remove barriers to student enrollment and progression, and supporting and assisting students with achieving their educational goals. Maintains a student caseload encouraging achievement of goals through self-assessment, reflection and connection to campus and community resources, with the goal of graduation. Assists with the developing and coordinating recruiting, outreach, and engagement programming. Implements strategies related to Student Excellence. Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.
Experience in advising, mentoring, tutoring, student programming or student services in an educational or programming setting.
Preferred Qualifications Master's degree, preferably in student personnel services, adult learning and development, counseling, guidance, education, or a related field of study.
Experience working with student population and recruitment efforts.
Experience using an early alert/advising system powered by predictive analytics.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) Ability to creatively motivate, empower, and recognize students.
Ability to increase retention and graduation rates.
Working knowledge of student development, education policies, and trends.
Proficient in written and verbal communication skills, the ability to make effective presentations, have strong public speaking skills, develop, and drive change and effectively communicate change.
Ability to build and maintain professional relationships and work as an individual contributor and an effective team player, in addition to being self-directed, and forward-thinking.
Ability to effectively engage with stakeholders when issues arise to ensure appropriate communication and develop effective resolution plans.
Skilled in problem-solving, analysis, follow-through, influence, and persuasion
Detail-oriented and capable of managing large amounts of data, maintaining detailed, comprehensive records, analyzing and organizing information, and having time management skills.
Strong organizational skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and a "Customer Focus" attitude and delivery.
Knowledge of working with integrated software systems as an end user and utilizing social networking communications.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint.
Ability to work evenings and weekends, as required.
