Job Summary Provides leadership for all aspects of Cleveland State University's (CSU) NCAA Division I women's cross country and track & field program, including coaching, recruiting, student-athlete development, compliance, and program administration. Promotes excellence in academic achievement, competitive success, community engagement, and student-athlete well-being while enhancing the visibility and reputation of the program. Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications High school diploma, GED, or state recognized equivalent.
Three (3) years experience coaching cross country and/or track & field at the high school, collegiate, club, or equivalent level.
Valid driver's license and ability to establish driver eligibility under CSU's Driving and Motor Vehicle Policy.
Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree preferably in sports management or related field.
Head coaching experience in collegiate cross country and/or track & field.
Experience in relationship-building and cultivation of former student-athletes and other program stakeholders.
Previous experience recruiting in Northeast Ohio.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) Knowledge of NCAA and conference rules and legislation and committed to abiding by them.
Strong organizational and excellent interpersonal skills and have a "Customer service" attitude and delivery.
Possess the ability to effectively plan and coordinate, establish and maintain effective working relationships and prioritize workloads based on available resources.
Possess the ability to manage projects, meet deadlines, and tackle emergencies and difficult situations.
Effective written and verbal communication skills and decision-making abilities.
Possess a high degree of confidentiality to available information.
