Job Description

Position Overview The Head Coach of the Varsity Girls Basketball program is responsible for leading student-athletes of various skill levels and is tasked with growing the overall Girls Basketball program at the school. This role focuses on skill and program development, game strategy, leadership, and mental preparation. The position will report to the Athletic Director and is a seasonal part-time coaching position that is required to follow all OHSAA rules and regulations. Key Responsibilities Refine basketball skills, including shooting, ball handling, passing, defensive footwork, and court vision. Teach offensive and defensive systems, set plays, adjustments, and situational strategy. Prepare players mentally through goal setting, visualization, focus, and confidence-building techniques. Develop student leadership through captain roles, mentoring, and accountability. Create competitive practice plans that prepare athletes for game situations. Model and reinforce strong standards for effort, discipline, and conduct on and off the court. Manage all team equipment and uniform inventory. Qualifications Experience coaching competitive high school basketball. Strong knowledge of offensive and defensive systems. Ability to develop leaders and manage team expectations. Skilled in motivating athletes in high-pressure environments.
