Immediately Northwestern Oklahoma State University is seeking candidates for a full-time Head Women's Track and Field Coach. This position is a full-time 12-month full benefits position in the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. Northwestern is an
NCAA DII
University and a member of the Great American Conference. Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to: coaching, development and evaluation of staff, recruiting, academic development, budget control, fundraising, and practice management. Candidate must exhibit commitment and responsibility for adhering to all NCAA, GAC and University policies, rules and all required documentation by the University as well as NCAA and GAC. Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director. Master's Degree is preferred. Collegiate coaching experience is preferred, collegiate head coaching experience is preferred. Teach 1 courses in the Health and Sport Science department in non-championship segment of Track and Field (Fall). Possess a commitment and responsibility for adhering to all rules and regulations of NWOSU, the GAC, and the NCAA Facilitates the provision of all information necessary to determine prospective student-athlete eligibility Annually declares and receives approval from the Director of Athletics and President for athletically related income Educates student-athletes of NCAA regulations regarding reporting of employment earnings Supervises conduct of athletes on trips and at games Teach 1 course in the Health and Sport Science department in non-championship segment of Women's Track and Field (fall)
Qualifications:
Thorough understanding of NCAA rules compliance Experience playing and coaching in the sport s/he coaches Must be certified in AED/CPR Strong leadership and communication skills Able to remain calm in situations where emotions are strained Demonstrates effective public speaking skills Works well with various news media organizations Committed to both athletic and academic excellence Master's degree in Health and Sports Science or Physical Education preferred Send Information to: Cheryl Ellis Human Resources Director Northwestern Oklahoma State University 709 Oklahoma Blvd. Alva, OK 73717
