The ideal candidate will support the head coach in developing student-athletes' skills, fostering teamwork, and promoting a positive sports culture. This full-time position offers an opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of young athletes while helping them grow both on and off the field. Responsibilities Assist the head coach in planning and conducting daily practice sessions, ensuring a safe and productive environment for all participants. Help develop and implement game strategies, drills, and training programs tailored to the skill levels of student-athletes. Provide individual and group instruction to enhance player development in technical and tactical aspects of soccer. Monitor and assess player performance, providing constructive feedback to promote improvement. Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, respect, and collaboration among players. Assist in organizing and supervising team events, including games, tournaments, and community outreach activities. Maintain open communication with student-athletes, parents, and school administration regarding team policies, schedules, and player progress. Ensure compliance with all school, district, and league regulations related to athletics and student safety. Collaborate with the head coach to develop and maintain an effective practice and game schedule. Attend staff meetings and professional development opportunities as required. Requirements Previous coaching experience at the middle school or high school level, preferably in soccer. Strong understanding of soccer fundamentals, strategies, and training techniques. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire young athletes. Ability to work collaboratively with coaches, athletes, and parents to create a supportive team environment. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain). A commitment to the academic and personal development of student-athletes. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends for practices and games as needed.
